The Rochester Land Trust is a private 501c(3) non-profit organization dedicated to permanent land conservation and preservation of the town’s natural resources. We seek to educate landowners on the benefits of land protection and the support of residents and businesses in preserving it.
The RLT is entirely run by a volunteer board of directors with the help of member volunteers. It operates solely within the Town of Rochester, Massachusetts. Although we work closely with town officials, we are an independent entity and not part of local government.
Running this land trust involves a variety of tasks including land acquisition, trail development and maintenance, publicity, grant-writing, fundraising, and event planning.
